Role Overview

The Ethics & Compliance (E&C) Manager / Sr. Manager supports the integration of high performance with high integrity at Lilly India Affiliate. This role provides guidance on ethical decision-making, compliance risk management, and implementation of Lilly’s global ethics and compliance program locally.

The incumbent partners with internal stakeholders, business leaders, and the global E&C organization to identify risks, improve business systems, and ensure alignment with ethics and compliance objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Ethics & Compliance Oversight

  • Provide E&C guidance on affiliate activities, policies, and procedures.

  • Engage with affiliate business partners to foster ethical decision-making, based on values, policy interpretation, and risk awareness.

  • Support the implementation of Lilly’s ethics and compliance program in India, including risk assessment, policies, communications, training, monitoring, and corrective actions.

Business Partnership & Advisory

  • Develop strong understanding of local business environment, plans, and strategies.

  • Advise business colleagues on compliance risks and best practices.

  • Execute monitoring plans to address identified and prioritized risk areas.

  • Facilitate corrective and preventive actions responsive to monitoring and investigation findings.

Policy & Procedure Management

  • Provide input for corporate compliance policies reflecting affiliate needs.

  • Implement localized procedures and communicate changes to impacted employees.

  • Leverage E&C data analytics and tools to derive actionable insights for risk management.

Professional Development & Governance

  • Keep updated on professional development trainings.

  • Complete myPM objectives in line with company process.

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.


Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field required

  • Juris Doctorate or equivalent professional experience preferred

Experience & Knowledge

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry or ethics & compliance in another sector

  • Understanding of business functions, leadership, and culture

  • Awareness of external regulatory environment

  • Knowledge of commonly used analytics tools for risk management

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Professional maturity and sensitivity to confidentiality

  • Good judgment, reasoning, and decision-making ability

  • Solutions-oriented, teamwork-driven, and learning agile

  • Ability to interpret complex compliance/regulatory requirements for business application

  • Ability to influence business ownership of compliance decisions

  • High resilience and flexibility in handling ambiguity and complexity

Other Requirements

  • Domestic and international travel may be required

  • Field days required

  • Legally authorized to work in India

  • Must be based in Delhi
