Job Overview
Eli Lilly is seeking a highly motivated Manager / Senior Manager – Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join its Medical Affairs team based in Delhi NCR. The MSL will serve as a field-based scientific expert responsible for engaging with Scientific Experts (SEs) and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within the oncology therapeutic area.

The role focuses on facilitating high-quality scientific exchange, delivering evidence-based medical information, and generating strategic insights from interactions with the scientific community. By bridging the gap between clinical research, healthcare professionals, and internal teams, the MSL plays a key role in supporting Lilly’s research, development, and commercialization strategies.

Territory and Travel Requirements

  • This role is based in Delhi NCR

  • Travel across North and West India is required to engage with scientific experts, healthcare professionals, and academic institutions

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain deep and current scientific expertise in oncology and relevant therapeutic areas

  • Engage with Scientific Experts (SEs) and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to provide accurate, unbiased, and up-to-date scientific and medical information

  • Support healthcare professionals by addressing complex clinical and scientific queries related to disease states and therapies

  • Facilitate scientific exchange between the medical community and internal Lilly teams

  • Identify and communicate insights from interactions with scientific experts to support medical strategy and research planning

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical development, medical affairs, regulatory, and commercial teams

  • Identify opportunities for collaborative research, investigator-initiated studies, and scientific partnerships

  • Develop and execute a strategic territory plan aligned with organizational objectives

  • Maintain compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical guidelines

  • Deliver scientific presentations and educational discussions for healthcare professionals and stakeholders

Educational Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Health Sciences such as PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent in a medically related field

OR

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or related healthcare discipline with significant relevant experience

Experience Requirements

  • 2–3 years of clinical or therapeutic area experience with an advanced medical degree

OR

  • 5+ years of experience in clinical research, pharmaceutical industry, or scientific/medical roles with a bachelor’s or master’s degree

  • Prior experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or in a field-based medical role within the oncology therapeutic area is highly preferred

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong scientific knowledge and intellectual curiosity within medical and pharmaceutical research

  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical and scientific information effectively

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills with healthcare professionals and scientific experts

  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills to interpret scientific insights and translate them into actionable recommendations

  • Strong presentation and scientific communication skills

  • Proficiency in literature search, medical data analysis, and scientific presentations

  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role while managing multiple priorities

  • High emotional intelligence and collaborative mindset for cross-functional teamwork

  • Proficiency with digital communication and field-based reporting tools
