Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Manager – Drug Safety Physician to lead pharmacovigilance activities, provide medical oversight, and ensure compliance with global regulatory standards. In this role, you will review individual case safety reports (ICSRs), manage complex safety issues, and mentor junior pharmacovigilance associates. This position is ideal for medical professionals with extensive experience in drug safety, epidemiology, and risk management within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessment and medical review of ICSRs within the safety database.

  • Verify adverse event selection, seriousness criteria, MedDRA coding, suspect drugs, concomitant medications, lab data, medical history, labeling, causality, and case narratives.

  • Provide company-level causality comments and respond to queries from case owners.

  • Escalate complex case issues to the Team Lead or Line Manager as required.

  • Document all review comments and follow-up actions in the Safety database within the medical review workflow.

  • Train and mentor PV associates on case processing, event capturing, and pharmacovigilance conventions.

  • Maintain current knowledge of product safety profiles across therapeutic areas.

  • Support risk management activities and provide medical input for safety-related projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Medical degree (MBBS/MD); postgraduate degree in any discipline is advantageous but not mandatory.

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in pharmacovigilance, drug safety, and regulatory compliance.

  • Prior exposure to pharmaceutical, life sciences, or corporate environments preferred.

  • High sense of responsibility, dedication, and ability to work under pressure.

  • Service-oriented mindset with attention to quality and compliance.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
