Overview:
Join Merck’s Global Scientific Communications Content Hub in Bengaluru as a Lead Expert – Scientific Writer. In this high-impact role, you'll develop complex medical content across key therapy areas such as Oncology, Neurology, Fertility, and more. You’ll work closely with global stakeholders, support junior writers, and contribute to strategic communication projects across medical communications, education, and publications.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently develop high-quality scientific content, including:
Medical communication and education materials
Congress presentations
Scientific publications
Lead and conduct content development meetings with internal stakeholders, authors, and subject matter experts
Review and ensure scientific accuracy, messaging alignment, and tone of content produced by junior writers
Mentor and provide functional guidance to less experienced team members
Represent assigned therapeutic areas or projects as a subject matter expert
Manage multiple projects and deadlines with a high level of efficiency and communication
Track and report project status and ensure alignment with business needs
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the global team
Qualifications:
Experience: 9+ years in medical communications, medical affairs, or clinical research within pharmaceutical, biotech, or agency settings
Education: Advanced degree in Science, Medicine, or a related field
Therapeutic Area Expertise: Oncology, Neurology & Immunology, Fertility, Cardio-metabolic, or Endocrinology
Proven expertise in leading content development and stakeholder collaboration
Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional and global communication projects
Strong analytical, project management, and leadership skills
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
Estimated Salary: ₹20–30 LPA (based on Bangalore-based lead scientific writing roles)
