Core Purpose of the Role

The Junior Executive is responsible for tracking and ensuring accountability of shift activities. This includes monitoring lab reactions, ensuring the safety and maintenance of equipment, and managing chemical handling and quenching tasks.


Role Accountabilities

Monitoring and Operational Support:

  • Monitor overnight reactions and hydrogenation lab reactions after working hours.
  • Assist with filling and preparing inorganic chemicals relevant to lab activities.
  • Provide necessary gases (oxygen, argon, carbon dioxide, ammonia) to lab scientists as required.
  • Quench toxic materials and transport them to the quenching station.
  • Monitor and record the temperature of the lab cold room.
  • Supervise the filling of fresh solvents for lab use.
  • Attend to emergencies that arise due to unexpected incidents during shifts.
  • Ensure all instruments and equipment are switched off when not in use.

Safety and Lab Maintenance:

  • Prepare scrubber solutions for various lab setups (column hoods, walk-in hoods, HTS labs, ADC labs).
  • Monitor and maintain safety standards within the lab, ensuring all activities comply with safety protocols.

Specific Requirements for the Role

Experience:

  • 0 to 3 years of relevant experience in laboratory or operational support roles.

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer basics, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on expertise in outbound logistics, inbound logistics, SEZ documentation, US-related documentation, purchasing, and warehouse operations.
  • Basic understanding of project and department goals and ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science (B.Sc).

This role requires a proactive individual with a hands-on approach to lab operations, ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to safety and quality standards. The Junior Executive will be crucial in maintaining operational discipline and supporting laboratory activities across shifts.
