Position Overview: The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based medical expert with specialized knowledge in disease states, Lilly and competitor compounds, and therapeutic areas. MSLs play a crucial role by gathering feedback from scientific experts and translating it to inform Lilly’s research strategy. By facilitating scientific exchange, MSLs help shape the future of healthcare through providing valuable insights that address key clinical and scientific questions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and Communicate Deep Scientific Knowledge

    • Continuously expand expertise to stay at the forefront of medical knowledge within the assigned therapeutic area.
    • Provide credible, unbiased, and up-to-date scientific information, building trust as a reliable resource for customers.
  2. Customer Engagement and Scientific Support

    • Engage with scientific experts to answer in-depth disease and product questions, offering support for their medical/scientific needs.
    • Facilitate collaboration between Lilly’s medical teams and external partners, identifying opportunities for research and partnerships.
  3. Strategic Vision and Leadership

    • Analyze complex data and communicate insights to inform internal decision-making and strategies.
    • Solve problems creatively and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
    • Make independent decisions using a principle-based approach and contribute actively to medical planning.
  4. Territory Ownership

    • Develop and execute a strategic plan for the assigned territory, ensuring efficient prioritization and accountability.
    • Uphold all compliance standards and demonstrate sound judgment in all activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD, MD, PhD) required, with preference for a Medical Degree or relevant therapy area experience.
  • Previous experience as an MSL or in a field-based role, developing relationships with scientific experts and Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Experience in managing complex information and customer needs.
  • Strong networking skills with a history of mutually beneficial professional relationships.
  • Familiarity with health systems, academic research, and medical education processes is a plus.

  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time within the assigned region, including weekends as needed.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for learning in the medical and scientific fields.
  • Ability to synthesize complex scientific content and communicate it clearly.
  • Strong self-management, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in advanced presentations and computer skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and critical analysis capabilities.
  • Fluent in both Arabic and English, with excellent verbal and written communication.
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to build professional relationships and collaborate effectively.
