Job Overview

The Pharmacist-Inpatient at Dayton Children's will oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring safe and appropriate medication processing and delivery to patients. This role involves reviewing and verifying medication orders, performing final checks for medication dispensing, monitoring patient drug therapies, providing drug information, and promoting medication safety. The pharmacist will also support and supervise pharmacy technicians, and in the absence of the pharmacy manager, may assume essential responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and verify medication orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Complete the final check for medication dispensing.
  • Monitor patient drug therapies and make necessary adjustments.
  • Provide drug information to patients and healthcare staff.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure smooth operations.
  • Comply with state and federal drug laws and regulations.
  • Assume pharmacy manager duties in their absence.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
  • Registered Pharmacist (Rph) certification in Ohio from the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
