About the Program

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) invites applications for its three-month Health Communications Internship, designed to provide hands-on experience in public health communication, content development, campaigns, and stakeholder engagement.
Interns will be placed at ICMR Headquarters (New Delhi) or at one of 28 ICMR institutes across India. This program offers an opportunity to gain practical exposure to science communication, health outreach, and public awareness initiatives within India’s apex medical research body.


Location

Placements will be made at:

  • ICMR Headquarters

  • Any of the 28 ICMR institutes across India

(Location preference may be considered but cannot be guaranteed.)


Key Responsibilities

Interns selected for the program will:

  • Support ongoing health campaigns and outreach initiatives.

  • Assist in events, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities.

  • Create communication materials such as articles, infographics, reports, and digital content.

  • Prepare and present a capstone project during the internship.

  • Submit a final report for evaluation by ICMR.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be Indian citizens under 28 years of age as of 30 October 2025.

  • Must be in the final year or a recent graduate (within the last two years) from a recognized program.

  • Minimum required marks: 55% or GPA 7.5 for UG programs OR 60% or GPA 6.5 for PG programs.

  • Strong communication skills in English and one regional language.

  • Familiarity with MS Office, Canva, Photoshop, or other design tools is preferred.


Program Benefits

  • Monthly stipend of ₹10,000.
