Position Overview

As Head of Medical Affairs, you will lead the medical strategy and governance for Bayer's Consumer Health (CH) division in India. This senior leadership role ensures scientific and ethical excellence across marketing, regulatory, and clinical operations while managing a high-performing medical affairs team. You'll play a critical role in aligning medical insights with business objectives, strengthening KOL relationships, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and Bayer SOPs.


Key Responsibilities

1. Medical Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure all promotional and scientific activities align with local regulations and Bayer SOPs

  • Oversee medical review and approval of marketing materials and public communications

  • Act as LQSD Process Owner and ensure training of medical staff in compliance standards

2. Strategic Leadership

  • Define and drive medical strategy in line with brand plans and business goals

  • Serve as the scientific expert and spokesperson at national/international events

  • Monitor and respond to competitive and environmental shifts

3. Team & Budget Management

  • Lead the CH Medical Affairs team

  • Oversee budget planning and monitoring of medical activities

  • Foster a culture of high ethical and performance standards

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Regulatory, Marketing, Clinical Ops, Market Access, and Sales

  • Provide scientific input for new brand launches, claims, and product support

  • Support pharmacovigilance and medical information functions

5. External Stakeholder Engagement

  • Establish and maintain relationships with KOLs, societies, regulatory authorities

  • Conduct advisory boards and provide external scientific guidance

  • Represent Bayer at conferences and decision-making forums


Qualifications

  • Degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or PhD

  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Medical Affairs, with MNCs in the Consumer/OTC sector

  • Minimum 3 years of portfolio-level medical leadership

  • Expertise in clinical trials, PV, regulatory affairs, and cross-functional strategy

  • Strong communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills
