About the Role
Fortrea, a leading global contract research organization (CRO), is seeking a Global Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager – Clinical to lead strategic sourcing initiatives across clinical and enterprise technology categories. This role will manage the end-to-end Source-to-Contract process for assigned categories, including Clinical Technologies (EDC, eCOA), Clinical Services, and Corporate/Enterprise Technologies.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive supplier value creation, ensure regulatory compliance, and align procurement strategies with Fortrea’s global business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and execute category strategies that support Fortrea’s strategic imperatives.

  • Partner with enterprise leaders to identify preferred suppliers and implement efficient sourcing strategies.

  • Lead multi-functional teams on strategic sourcing initiatives, ensuring value delivery and strong supplier relationships.

  • Conduct contract reviews and monitor supplier performance against agreed KPIs.

  • Manage the end-to-end Source-to-Contract process while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

  • Analyze procurement metrics and spend data to identify optimization opportunities.

  • Conduct market research to identify suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and pricing.

  • Deliver savings and value targets across cost optimization and material deflation initiatives.

  • Foster a team-oriented environment with a strong service culture.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.

  • Minimum 10+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, or related roles with demonstrated success in value creation and category management.

  • Deep knowledge of sourcing processes, market trends, benchmarks, and procurement best practices.

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.

  • Proficiency with procurement software, Microsoft Office365, and data analysis tools.

  • Ability to work autonomously, lead cross-functional teams, and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.

  • Experience in the clinical research, pharmaceutical, or healthcare sectors is highly desirable.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $130,000–$150,000 (excludes benefits, bonus, commission, or equity).

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Hybrid work model: office-based in Durham 2–3 days per week.

  • Occasional travel, both domestic and international, may be required.

  • Light to moderate lifting (up to 15–20 lbs) and ability to use various software systems.

  • Flexibility in working hours and consistent attendance required.
