Job Overview

Novo Nordisk is seeking an experienced Global Publications Lead to drive the global publication strategy for its Rare Disease portfolio. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape scientific communication for life-changing therapies and ensure impactful research reaches the global medical and scientific community.

The selected candidate will lead end-to-end publication planning, stakeholder collaboration, scientific communication execution, and compliance management while supporting Novo Nordisk’s global rare disease strategy.

This role is ideal for strategic publication professionals with expertise in medical communications, publication planning, scientific content development, and cross-functional project leadership.


Key Responsibilities

As a Global Publications Lead, you will:

  • Lead the global publication strategy for the Rare Disease therapy portfolio.
  • Plan and chair Publication Planning Group (PPG) meetings to align cross-functional stakeholders on publication priorities, timelines, authorship, and execution strategy.
  • Drive end-to-end execution of publication plans, including:
    • Primary manuscripts
    • Secondary analyses
    • Pooled analyses
    • Scientific communication deliverables
  • Manage the complete publication lifecycle, including:
    • Concept development
    • Publication planning
    • Author coordination
    • Manuscript development
    • Journal submission
    • Peer-review response management
    • Post-publication activities
  • Coordinate scientific congress communication materials, including:
    • Abstracts
    • Posters
    • Oral presentations
    • Publication extenders
    • Scientific meeting deliverables
  • Ensure full compliance with:
    • GPP (Good Publication Practice)
    • GPP4 Guidelines
    • ICMJE authorship guidelines
    • Internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Scientific integrity standards
  • Manage collaborations with:
    • Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
    • Internal medical writers
    • External publication agencies
    • Cross-functional commercial and medical stakeholders
  • Oversee publication budgets, vendor management, and contracting activities.
  • Provide publication best practice guidance and stakeholder training on authorship, compliance, and scientific communication processes.
  • Drive process improvements to optimize publication planning and execution.

The Product & Portfolio Strategy (P&PS) division at Novo Nordisk focuses on driving commercial strategy, medical affairs excellence, and business development across global therapy areas.

The RareD Medcomms & Publications Team, part of the Rare Disease division within P&PS GBS, supports Novo Nordisk’s global Rare Disease portfolio through strategic scientific communication and impactful publication planning.

Required Qualifications

Education

Candidates should possess:

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in relevant healthcare or scientific disciplines, such as:

    • Equivalent relevant disciplines

Experience

Candidates should have:

  • 4–6 years of publication management experience in:
    • Pharmaceutical industry
    • Scientific, Technical & Medical (STM) publishing
    • Medical communications agency
    • Scientific publication planning roles
  • 4+ years of project management experience managing:
    • Complex scientific deliverables
    • Multi-stakeholder global projects
    • Cross-functional publication workflows

Hands-on experience in:
