Job Overview

Amgen is seeking a Global HEOR Systematic Literature Review (SLR) Senior Associate to provide scientific expertise in designing, executing, and managing literature review services within the Global HEOR function. This role supports evidence-based decision making and global access strategies for Amgen’s therapies by delivering high-quality systematic literature reviews across clinical, economic, and patient-centered outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of SLR experience with a Master’s degree or 5+ years with a Bachelor’s degree, and proficiency in biomedical databases, research synthesis, and medical writing.


Key Responsibilities

Systematic Literature Review (SLR) Execution

  • Collaborate with Global HEOR Team Lead and Product Leads to refine literature review questions aligned with HEOR strategy.

  • Design and execute literature searches across electronic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library) and grey literature sources (conference proceedings, regulatory websites).

  • Screen abstracts and full-text articles using PICO criteria to determine relevance.

  • Prepare PRISMA diagrams to document study selection and inclusion/exclusion processes.

  • Extract, validate, and synthesize data from included studies into structured data extraction templates.

  • Draft evidence tables, figures, reports, and presentations, interpreting patterns, trends, and insights for global HEOR stakeholders.

  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency of assigned deliverables.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collaborate across global HEOR teams spanning multiple time zones and cultural contexts.

  • Support team initiatives for process improvement, standardization, and knowledge sharing.

Operational Excellence & Innovation

  • Utilize systematic review software, citation management tools (e.g., EndNote), and AI-assisted solutions to optimize workflow efficiency.

  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Health Economics, Public Health, Medicine, Epidemiology, or related health sciences field.

Experience

  • Master’s degree: Minimum 3 years of SLR experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or consulting environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Proven experience conducting clinical, economic, QoL, and burden-of-illness literature reviews.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-project timelines and SLR milestones efficiently.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of biomedical databases (PubMed, EMBASE, MEDLINE).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • Skilled in systematic review and reference management tools (EndNote or equivalent).

  • Strong scientific writing, editing, and fact-checking abilities.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with global teams and diverse stakeholders.

  • Experience integrating AI tools to enhance efficiency and workflow.

  • High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
