Position Summary

The Global HEOR Systematic Literature Review (SLR) Senior Associate plays a key role in designing, conducting, and managing systematic literature review projects that support Amgen’s Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) strategies.

The role involves collaborating with Global HEOR Product Leads to produce evidence-based insights that drive global market access, health outcomes evaluation, and value demonstration across Amgen’s therapeutic portfolio.


Key Responsibilities

1. Literature Review Design & Execution

  • Develop and refine literature review questions aligned with HEOR product strategy and team lead direction.

  • Prepare detailed research protocols for SLR projects.

  • Design and perform literature searches across electronic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library) and grey literature sources (conference abstracts, regulatory databases).

  • Screen abstracts and full-text articles using PICO criteria to determine inclusion relevance.

  • Create and maintain PRISMA diagrams to document study selection processes.

  • Extract, verify, and summarize data using predefined data extraction templates.

  • Generate evidence tables, figures, and final reports, interpreting key findings and trends.

2. Quality & Process Management

  • Ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables at all review stages — first pass, second pass, and data extraction.

  • Maintain consistency and compliance with SLR methodologies and internal standards.

  • Support continuous process improvement through innovative approaches (e.g., use of AI tools).

3. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with Global HEOR teams and cross-functional stakeholders across time zones.

  • Support communication and alignment with Global HEOR Product Leads on deliverables and timelines.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:

    • Pharmacy

    • Health Economics

    • Public Health

    • Medicine

    • Epidemiology

    • Related Health Sciences

Experience

  • 3+ years (Master’s degree) or 5+ years (Bachelor’s degree) of experience in systematic literature review methods within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or consulting sectors.

  • Proven experience conducting various types of literature reviews:

    • Clinical effectiveness

    • Economic evaluations

    • Quality of Life (QoL)

    • Burden of illness

  • Strong expertise in biomedical databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently.

  • Sound understanding of research methodology and evidence synthesis.


Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Prior medical writing experience preferred.

  • Proficient in EndNote or other reference management software.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • Hands-on experience with systematic review tools and citation databases (PubMed, EMBASE).

  • High attention to detail and strong editing/fact-checking capabilities.

  • Innovative mindset with the ability to leverage AI technologies for efficiency.
