Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct epidemiological studies to generate real-world evidence (RWE), including but not limited to:

    • Natural history of disease

    • Population characterization

    • Assessment of treatment patterns and unmet needs

    • Development of external comparators

    • Benchmarking of clinical outcomes

    • Comparative safety and effectiveness research

    • Post-authorization studies

  • Support the development of study protocols, analysis plans, and study reports addressing priority methodological questions in RWE

  • Identify fit-for-purpose data sources for timely execution of RWE strategies

  • Construct cohorts using real-world data (RWD) sources such as claims and electronic health records (EHR), including evaluation of key variables and planning validation studies as needed

  • Conduct descriptive and comparative research analyses using RWD for methodological research questions

  • Contribute to communicating observational research results and methods via regulatory documents, reports, publications, and white papers

  • Support effective communication of study/analysis results to facilitate internal and external decision-making

  • Develop processes and training to enhance the efficiency, quality, and impact of functional activities

  • Co-author abstracts and manuscripts for external dissemination of methodological study results

  • Manage stakeholders including external vendors and internal cross-functional teams


Minimum Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • PhD in Epidemiology or related field with at least 4 years of relevant post-doctoral experience, preferably in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or consulting environments

  • Alternatively, Master’s degree in Epidemiology or related field plus 7 years of experience may be acceptable

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of observational research methods to support study design and conduct, including development of protocols, statistical analysis plans, and study reports

  • Experience with secondary data sources and analysis, such as electronic medical records and/or medical claims databases

  • Experience with commercially available US datasets and data platforms

  • Experience with OMOP datasets is desirable

  • Background in chronic autoimmune inflammatory diseases (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, atopic dermatitis, lupus, asthma) preferred

  • Demonstrated scientific publication record related to observational study design, analysis, and interpretation preferred

  • Proven ability to work autonomously and develop productive cross-functional collaborations within a matrix environment

  • Strong skills in managing priorities and performance targets
