Job Purpose:

To develop formulations and manufacturing processes for new pharmaceutical products, ensuring compliance with GMP/GLP standards and internal procedures, and to contribute to timely project delivery aligned with departmental and corporate goals.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop formulas and processes for new products, including:

    • Literature review

    • Raw material and packaging sourcing

    • Lab-scale batch preparation

    • Experimental design and execution

  • Write Master Formula and Packaging Work Orders for exhibit batches.

  • Facilitate manufacturing and packaging of exhibit batches.

  • Document all research activities, protocols, observations, and formulation development reports.

  • Support technical transfer, process validation, and troubleshooting in commercial production.

  • Proactively plan and track project activities.

  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  • Complete GMP training and ensure accurate and timely documentation of GMP activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibility (Customer-facing roles only):
Report any adverse events from customers to the pharmacovigilance department within 1 business day.


Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in liquid and semi-solid formulation development.

  • Proficient in experiment design, implementation, and evaluation.

  • Understanding of GMP practices.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Effective in team-based environments.

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.

  • Educational Background:

    • Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences with ≥1 year experience in formulation development preferred, OR

    • B.Sc. or college diploma with ≥3 years of experience in semi-solid and liquid formulation development.

  • Ability to:

    • Apply scientific principles and formulation theories

    • Assess formulations/processes based on analytical results

    • Collaborate across departments and resolve development challenges


Working Conditions:

  • Generally pleasant work environment

  • Occasional exposure to chemicals, odors, and noise

  • Involves standing, walking, and light lifting/movement of materials/instruments

  • Conflicting demands on time are common
