Job Title:

Part-Time Field Service Technician – Medical Devices

Location:

Traverse City, Michigan (On-site, field-based)

Job Summary:

IQVIA is seeking a skilled and flexible Field Service Technician for a part-time, on-call position based in Traverse City, MI. This unique opportunity involves servicing and supporting automated medication dispensing systems in clinical settings such as hospitals and pharmacies. Ideal for those with a technical or military electronics background, this role offers the chance to work in the growing medical device sector while maintaining a flexible schedule.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and update medical devices in healthcare environments

  • Perform preventative maintenance (bi-annual or annual)

  • Replace hardware parts, perform calibrations, and implement software updates

  • Assist with new device installations and configurations

  • Conduct system checks and log product performance data

  • Travel locally up to 2–3 hours to client sites as needed

  • Ensure response times meet SLA requirements (within 4–24 hours)

  • Stock and maintain assigned tools and parts inventory

  • Available for on-call work, including nights and weekends


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Intermediate troubleshooting skills in electronics, mechanics, and electromechanical systems

  • Experience in technical roles such as military technician, computer technician, or biomedical technician preferred

  • A+ certification preferred

  • Prior work supporting automation in healthcare is a plus

  • Background in healthcare, field service, maintenance, engineering, IT, or pharmacy support is beneficial

  • Excellent communication and customer support abilities

  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required (travel/mileage reimbursed)

  • Capable of lifting up to 70 lbs, bending, pushing, and standing for extended periods

  • Must meet hospital vendor credentialing and vaccination requirements
