JOB OVERVIEW
Merck is seeking an experienced Expert/Senior Expert Scientific Writer to join its Global Scientific Communications Content Hub in Bangalore. The role focuses on developing high-quality medical communications, medical education, publications, congress materials, and scientific content while collaborating with global Medical Affairs and R&D teams across multiple therapeutic areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Scientific Content Development
Develop medical communication and medical education content.
Create publications, congress materials, slide decks, scientific summaries, and educational resources.
Produce scientifically accurate and strategically aligned content.
Handle multiple content types simultaneously while maintaining quality and timelines.
• Medical Writing Leadership
Lead development of medium to high-complexity scientific content.
Review and quality-check content developed by junior writers.
Ensure scientific accuracy, consistency, and alignment with strategic messaging.
Provide constructive feedback and mentoring to team members.
• Stakeholder Management
Lead concept and content development meetings.
Collaborate with Medical Affairs, R&D, Publications, and Scientific Communication teams.
Build strong relationships with global stakeholders.
Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned therapeutic areas.
• Project Management
Manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
Prioritize workload effectively.
Provide clear project status updates.
Ensure timely delivery of all assigned projects.
• Process Improvement
Contribute to scientific communication process enhancements.
Support innovation initiatives within the Content Hub.
Participate in operational excellence and quality improvement programs.
• Training & Mentorship
Mentor junior scientific writers.
Develop learning programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Support capability building within the team.
