Job Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Expert Scientific Writer to lead the creation of complex, high-impact scientific content that supports global publication and medical communication strategies. This role involves end-to-end ownership of scientific deliverables, from initial brief through final publication or presentation, ensuring first-time-right, high-quality outputs aligned with the Scientific Communication Plan (SCP).
The position requires strong therapeutic expertise, advanced scientific writing capabilities, and the ability to communicate complex medical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Develop high-quality, complex scientific content including primary and review manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide decks, and foundational core content
Own scientific deliverables from concept development to final publication or presentation
Demonstrate in-depth understanding of assigned therapeutic areas and products
Prepare materials for satellite symposia, advisory boards, and internal or external scientific meetings, including agendas, slide content, speaker briefings, and summary reports
Ensure all content is scientifically accurate, evidence-based, well-referenced, grammatically sound, and compliant with internal quality and publication standards
Conduct internal scientific reviews to ensure alignment with approved scientific messages
Perform quality control (QC) and proofreading activities to meet stakeholder and compliance expectations
Translate complex medical and scientific concepts into concise, audience-appropriate content
Mentor team members and support onboarding of new scientific writers
Collaborate effectively within matrixed, cross-functional, and multicultural teams
Education & Experience Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in medical communications or scientific writing
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or equivalent with at least 5 years of clinical research experience
Master of Science (M.Sc.) or Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) with up to 10 years of clinical research experience
Desirable Qualifications:
Strong working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
Experience working in global, matrixed environments
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders with professionalism and diplomacy
Skills & Competencies
Advanced medical and scientific writing expertise
Strong understanding of clinical research, publications, and medical communications
Excellent oral and written communication skills across all organizational levels
Strong presentation, stakeholder engagement, and leadership communication skills
