About the Role

The Expert – Science & Technology will be responsible for designing, planning, executing, interpreting, and reporting scientific experiments to support the development of drug substances (DS), drug products (DP), analytical methods, manufacturing processes, and procedures.

The role requires strong expertise in analytical sciences, chromatography, dissolution testing, and pharmaceutical development while working collaboratively within multifunctional project teams. The candidate will contribute to technical innovation, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and successful product development activities.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific Research & Experimental Design

  • Independently design, plan, execute, and document scientific experiments with minimal supervision.

  • Conduct analytical testing, GMP testing, and laboratory-based development activities.

  • Interpret experimental data and recommend future study directions.

  • Manage multiple scientific projects and activities simultaneously.

Analytical Method Development

  • Develop, optimize, validate, and troubleshoot analytical methods.

  • Support drug product analytical development activities.

  • Ensure analytical methods meet regulatory and quality requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement in analytical methodologies.

Chromatography & Separation Science

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in chromatography and separation science.

  • Perform method selection, optimization, troubleshooting, and validation.

  • Support analytical investigations and root cause analysis.

  • Implement advanced analytical technologies and techniques.

Dissolution Method Development

  • Develop and validate dissolution methods for drug products.

  • Interpret dissolution profiles and performance data.

  • Support formulation development through dissolution characterization.

  • Ensure methods are scientifically robust and regulatory compliant.

Laboratory Operations & Equipment Management

  • Operate specialized analytical instruments and laboratory equipment.

  • Schedule and coordinate equipment maintenance and qualification activities.

  • Ensure laboratory compliance with quality and safety standards.

  • Support system ownership and infrastructure management when required.

Data Review & Documentation

  • Document raw data accurately and maintain complete records.

  • Review and verify scientific data generated by team members.

  • Approve experiments and testing activities performed by others.

  • Prepare protocols, reports, SOPs, and scientific documentation.

Technology Development & Innovation

  • Develop innovative solutions for critical quality attributes (CQAs).

  • Establish control strategies for critical material attributes (CMAs) and critical process parameters (CPPs).

  • Contribute to the implementation of new technologies and analytical approaches.

  • Participate in scientific problem-solving and process optimization initiatives.

Regulatory & GMP Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to cGMP, GLP, data integrity, and quality requirements.

  • Support regulatory submissions and technical documentation.

  • Contribute to international registration dossiers.

  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental, and information security requirements.

Knowledge Management & Collaboration

  • Conduct scientific literature reviews and technical research.

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing within project teams.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional global stakeholders.

  • Support technical transfers and development activities across global networks.

Training & Mentorship

  • Train and mentor junior scientists, associates, and technicians.

  • Provide technical guidance on analytical methodologies.

  • Support capability development across teams.

Project Management & Leadership

  • Participate in project teams and technical sub-teams.

  • Lead local technical discussions and development meetings.

  • Present scientific findings to internal stakeholders and leadership.

  • Support publications, presentations, patents, and innovation initiatives.


Required Qualifications

Education

  • M.Pharm

  • M.Sc (Analytical Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Sciences / Related Discipline)

  • Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, or Related Scientific Field

Experience

  • M.Pharm / M.Sc with up to 10 years of relevant experience.

  • Ph.D. with demonstrated industry experience in analytical development and pharmaceutical research.
