We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Clinical Service Provider Lead to manage and optimize clinical service provider categories, with a primary focus on eCOA (electronic Clinical Outcome Assessment) and Rater Training. This role will contribute to the enterprise-wide strategy across Clinical Operations, Medical Affairs, Pharma Research, and Early Development, both in the U.S. and globally.

Position Overview
The Enterprise Clinical Service Provider Lead will oversee specific clinical service categories, ensuring high-quality delivery, supplier performance, and strategic alignment with organizational goals. This role requires expertise in supplier governance, category strategy, stakeholder management, and financial oversight. Emerging service areas may include patient engagement, patient matching, transportation, and reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong global supplier partnerships while balancing complex organizational needs.

  • Communication & Negotiation: Lead strategic discussions and negotiations with clinical suppliers to ensure high-performance outcomes.

  • Supplier Governance & Issue Management: Own category governance, monitor supplier performance, and proactively escalate issues.

  • Strategic Development & Execution: Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize clinical operations and ensure alignment with business objectives.

  • Financial Oversight: Collaborate with Global Procurement to manage budgets, benchmark costs, and implement efficiencies.

  • Decision-Making: Apply strategic judgment to weigh short- and long-term impacts of supplier and operational decisions.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Life Sciences, or related field. Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Healthcare Management) preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in clinical supplier performance management or clinical operations.

  • Category Expertise: At least 3 years of direct experience in eCOA and Rater Training, with familiarity in emerging clinical service categories.

  • Proven track record in strategic supplier management, stakeholder influence, and complex decision-making.

  • Deep understanding of sourcing strategies, KPIs, KQIs, and supplier performance standards in clinical development.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a multi-business unit, global matrix environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range (South San Francisco, CA): $145,400 – $270,000 per year (based on experience and location).

  • Discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

  • Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.

  • Relocation benefits are not available for this position.
