Job Overview
Lambda Therapeutic Research Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Drug Product Formulation Development Scientist to join the Process Sciences team. This role focuses on designing and executing formulation development strategies for drug products, including liquid and lyophilized dosage forms. The candidate will play a critical role in developing stable, scalable, and regulatory-compliant drug product formulations with optimal physicochemical characteristics suitable for clinical and commercial applications.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership in drug product (DP) formulation development and lyophilization process optimization.
Design and execute formulation development studies for liquid and lyophilized dosage forms.
Select appropriate excipients and develop robust formulation strategies to ensure stability, efficacy, and desired physicochemical properties.
Conduct stability studies and evaluate formulation performance under various storage conditions.
Perform forced degradation studies to assess product stability and degradation pathways.
Design and execute compatibility studies for primary packaging containers and drug products.
Manage and optimize drug product unit operations including freeze-thaw processes, filtration, filling, mixing, and lyophilization.
Ensure compliance with container closure integrity testing and packaging requirements.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external clients to achieve project milestones.
Prepare, review, and maintain technical reports related to formulation development activities.
Support regulatory submissions and provide documentation during regulatory inspections or audits.
Contribute to scientific publications, intellectual property development, and innovation initiatives related to formulation science.
Technical Skills
Strong expertise in formulation development for biologics or pharmaceutical drug products.
In-depth understanding of excipient selection, dosage form development, and stability evaluation.
Hands-on experience with lyophilization processes and drug product manufacturing unit operations.
Knowledge of freeze-thaw cycles, filtration processes, filling operations, and packaging compatibility studies.
Familiarity with container closure integrity testing and pharmaceutical packaging requirements.
Soft Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and manage client interactions.
Strong documentation and technical reporting skills.
Educational Qualification
Master’s degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
