Role Overview
The Director – Veeva Platform and CoE GCC will lead high-performing teams in the GCC, partnering with global product owners, solution architects, compliance teams, and Veeva to deliver platform value, standardization, and continuous improvement across R&D and PGS domains. This leadership role defines operating models, governance frameworks, and platform roadmaps while ensuring long-term scalability, compliance, and enterprise-wide adoption.

The Director will oversee talent strategy, coaching, and knowledge management for the GCC, operating in a global follow-the-sun model with partial US/EU overlap. The role demands clear and influential communication with senior stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes and measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

Overall Leadership

  • Lead GCC strategy and operations for Veeva Platform support, including cross-Vault items, data, content, release management, and CoE initiatives.

  • Ensure service quality and adherence to delivery SLAs across the organization.

Release Execution Governance

  • Manage release governance for Veeva Platform, Data, ECM, and CoE functions to ensure consistency, accuracy, quality, and timely delivery.

  • Communicate release plans, progress, and status updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical and Compliance Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership for release management, backlog governance, and GxP compliance.

  • Define and refine release processes and methodologies, incorporating industry best practices and innovative approaches.

System Implementation Support

  • Support Veeva implementations across Regulatory, Clinical, and Quality functions.

  • Collaborate with Product and Platform teams to manage the lifecycle of Veeva systems in alignment with digital procedures.

System Operations Oversight

  • Oversee day-to-day global operations including incident management, problem resolution, RCA, SLA performance, and continuous service improvement.

  • Anticipate business challenges and apply best practices to enhance platform performance across geographies.

Stakeholder Management & Executive Communication

  • Communicate complex, cross-business-unit concepts effectively to senior management.

  • Influence strategic decisions, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals.

Risk and Resilience Management

  • Support cybersecurity, privacy compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.

  • Manage operational risks proactively to ensure uninterrupted and secure operations.

Financial and Resource Management

  • Manage GCC budgets, resource planning, and sourcing strategies.

  • Optimize throughput, unit costs, and resource allocation while maintaining quality and compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience including 8+ years in designing, delivering, and maintaining large-scale global R&D systems and platforms.

  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in Veeva implementation/support across multiple Vaults (RIM, Clinical Operations, Quality), program management, technical support, and release management.

  • Extensive IT leadership experience in GCC Lead, support leader, release director, systems engineer, or technical team lead roles.

  • Proven experience managing teams and financials for both contract and employee resources.

Technical Skills

  • Enterprise software delivery experience in pharmaceutical R&D or regulated environments.

  • Expertise in managing large-scale software requirements, designs, and global implementations.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and present to senior leaders.

  • Ability to lead in a complex, matrixed environment with geographically distributed resources.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology Management, or related discipline.

  • Advanced expertise in project estimation, critical thinking, planning, and facilitation.

  • Strong negotiation, consensus-building, and cross-functional leadership skills.
