Job Summary

Fortrea is hiring a strategic Director of Product Engineering – Patient Safety to lead the vision, roadmap, and delivery of innovative software solutions for pharmacovigilance and patient safety. This role blends deep industry expertise with strong product leadership, focusing on user-centered design and GxP-compliant technology. Ideal for a senior professional with experience in drug safety platforms, product development in life sciences, and global team management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full product lifecycle for patient safety software solutions

  • Align product vision with life sciences business needs and client pain points

  • Conduct market analysis and track pharma technology trends

  • Define and prioritize features, functionalities, and compliance standards

  • Collaborate with engineering, QA, sales, and customer teams

  • Develop and communicate detailed product roadmaps

  • Track product KPIs and adjust strategies for optimal performance

  • Ensure regulatory and pharmacovigilance compliance (e.g., GxP)

  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and 3rd-party integrations/licenses

  • Engage with key clients and collect product feedback

  • Oversee incident and problem management support processes


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Life Sciences (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum 6+ years of product management experience in pharma tech or PV software

  • Hands-on experience in pharmacovigilance product lifecycle and PV platforms

  • Familiarity with DevOps tools, Agile methodologies, and global team leadership

  • Deep understanding of patient safety data, regulations, and GxP

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Analytical and strategic thinking with business ownership mindset

  • Experience managing cross-functional product and support teams


Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Life Sciences, or Tech

  • Certification in Agile, Product Management, or related fields

  • CRO or startup experience in fast-paced pharma environments

  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices

  • Expertise in user-centered design for PV tools
