The Opportunity

As the Quality Microbiological Laboratory Manager, you will lead and manage the microbiological laboratory's operations, including overseeing testing, compliance, and team development. You will play a critical role in ensuring the site's adherence to regulatory requirements and fostering a culture of quality.


Key Responsibilities

Quality Management

  • Oversee the microbiological lab's activities, ensuring compliance with cGXP, Site SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Continuously enhance laboratory quality processes and systems.

Team Leadership and Resource Management

  • Manage a team of approximately 30 indirect and 4 direct reports.

  • Recruit, develop, and retain talent to uphold high-quality standards.

  • Efficiently manage departmental budgets and resources.

Sustainable Quality Culture

  • Foster a site-wide quality enhancement culture.

  • Conduct risk-based decision-making to align business needs with compliance.

Regulatory and External Representation

  • Represent the site during regulatory inspections and external audits.

  • Act as the quality representative to customers, trade organizations, and professional groups.

Strategic and Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Contribute to the Quality Management Team, shaping long-term local strategies.

  • Align site objectives with global quality goals and share best practices within the organization.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Education:

    • University degree in Pharmacy, Analytical Chemistry, or Microbiology.

    • HBO+ education with significant managerial experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Experience:

    • Extensive knowledge of cGXP and regulatory guidelines.

    • Proven expertise in pharmaceutical operations, preferably sterile manufacturing.

    • Hands-on experience with analytical techniques and managing authority inspections.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent communication and people management abilities.

    • Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.

    • Ability to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

    • Credibility in leadership and proactive strategic orientation.
