Role Overview

The Director Health Tech – Cardiopulmonary will combine strategic foresight with operational delivery to lead cross-sector initiatives integrating Johnson & Johnson’s pharmaceutical and MedTech capabilities. The role supports future-state models of care for cardiopulmonary conditions including atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and acute coronary syndromes.


Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Execution of Cross-Sector Initiatives

  • Lead day-to-day execution of cross-sector working groups integrating MedTech and pharmaceutical innovations.

  • Develop implementation plans, track milestones, and provide governance updates.

  • Ensure alignment with internal timelines, quality, and regulatory requirements.

2. Strategic Vision and Program Planning

  • Shape the long-term strategic roadmap for cardiopulmonary collaboration.

  • Translate strategies into actionable, measurable, scalable workstreams.

  • Provide input on pipeline development, Target Product Profiles (TPPs), and lifecycle strategies with clinical, regulatory, and commercial teams.

3. Cross-Sector Integration and Governance

  • Act as central connector between Innovative Medicine and MedTech teams.

  • Lead program operations in cross-sector governance councils.

  • Facilitate enterprise-level information flow, objective alignment, and decision-making.

4. External Collaboration Execution

  • Coordinate with academic groups, digital health partners, and technology vendors.

  • Oversee contracting, onboarding, and execution of co-development and co-piloting initiatives.

  • Drive value realization through operational oversight and stakeholder engagement.

5. Evidence Generation & Clinical Integration

  • Support feasibility studies, real-world pilots, and hybrid clinical trials involving digital endpoints or MedTech interfaces.

  • Integrate these initiatives into clinical development and commercialization pathways.


Qualifications

Education

  • MD or MD/PhD required

Experience

  • 8–10 years in clinical development, health technology, or pharmaceutical/medical device strategy.

  • Proven track record managing external partnerships and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Deep understanding of cardiovascular care pathways, digital health, and regulatory trends.

  • Experience in MedTech–Pharma collaboration, particularly in cardiovascular medicine.

  • Familiarity with digital biomarkers, remote patient monitoring, and hybrid clinical trials.

  • Experience in portfolio shaping or platform strategy in global matrix organizations.

  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP).

Skills

  • Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to prioritize and adapt in dynamic environments.

  • Good organizational and team collaboration skills in matrix settings.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

  • Excellent English; additional languages advantageous.

Preferred

  • Experience in atrial fibrillation (AFib), heart failure, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), heart recovery, or pulmonary hypertension.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay range: $194,000 to $334,650 (USD)

  • Eligible for annual performance bonus based on individual and company performance.

  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans (401k), and long-term incentive programs.

  • Paid time off: up to 120 hours vacation, 40 hours sick leave (varies by state), up to 13 holidays, plus personal and family time.
