Role Summary:

As Director of Digital Medicine, you will lead the development and execution of innovative research strategies—including decentralized clinical trials (DCTs), pragmatic trial models, and digital health technologies (DHTs). You'll act as a strategic partner and subject matter expert (SME), supporting study and product teams across the clinical development lifecycle to improve trial efficiency, patient experience, and data quality.


Key Responsibilities:

🎯 Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the Digital Medicine strategy aligned with clinical development, post-marketing, and product portfolio needs.

  • Represent the function at cross-functional and governance meetings, influencing high-level strategic decisions.

🧪 Study & Product Team Support

  • Serve as SME to identify opportunities for digital innovation, including DCT components, DHTs, and pragmatic designs.

  • Advise on selection, validation, and implementation of digital tools, wearables, remote monitoring, and digital endpoints.

🌐 Decentralized & Pragmatic Trials

  • Provide leadership in the design, planning, and execution of decentralized and pragmatic trials to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

🚀 Innovation & Technology Enablement

  • Monitor emerging digital health trends, regulatory guidance, and technologies.

  • Build strategic partnerships with startups, tech providers, academic institutions, and industry collaborators.

🤝 Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a key internal and external point of contact for Digital Medicine.

  • Partner with Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Safety, and Strategic Sourcing to ensure seamless integration of digital solutions in trials.

📊 Operational Oversight

  • Oversee operational aspects of digital solution deployment, including vendor management, budget planning, risk mitigation, and KPI tracking (e.g., study timelines, enrollment, retention).

🔄 Change Management

  • Drive cultural and organizational change toward the adoption of digital and decentralized research methodologies.


Qualifications:

🧾 Basic Qualifications (one of the following):

  • Doctorate degree + 4 years relevant experience

  • Master’s degree + 7 years relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s degree + 9 years relevant experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, MSc) in life sciences, public health, or medicine.

  • 10+ years of experience in clinical development or digital health, including leadership roles in DCTs or pragmatic trials.

  • Experience in cardiovascular, oncology, inflammation, or rare diseases.

  • In-depth understanding of:

    • Clinical trial operations

    • Regulatory requirements

    • Digital health technologies

  • Proven track record in global or regional digital strategy implementation.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on patient-centric, data-driven innovation.

  • Familiarity with digital platforms, remote tools, and wearables.


Compensation & Benefits:

💵 Base Salary:

$240,754 – $277,917 USD annually (based on experience, qualifications, and location)
