Role Overview

This position, based at Lilly China’s Drug Development and Medical Affairs Center (LCDDMAC), focuses on Autoimmune diseases, a key therapeutic area for Lilly China. The Clinical Research Physician (CRP) will take on a leadership role in drug development and/or new product launch medical affairs. The CRP will be the scientific leader for the development of medical strategies and ensure that the company's medical affairs activities are in alignment with both local and global business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Medical Leadership: Lead the development of medical strategies to support drug brand launches and life cycle plans.
  • Collaboration and Networking: Establish and maintain relationships with external scientific experts, thought leaders, and the broader medical community.
  • Medical Education and Data Generation: Oversee the planning and execution of medical symposia, advisory board meetings, and educational programs. Collaborate on scientific data generation, including new product data and real-world evidence.
  • Scientific Content and Data Management: Manage the generation of scientific content, data disclosure, analysis, and presentation of results.
  • Medical Budget Management: Provide leadership in preparing and administering the medical budget.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business and cross-functional partners to ensure seamless integration of medical strategies with broader company objectives.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure that all medical-related activities comply with regulatory standards and medical governance requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Medical Degree: A Medical Doctor (MD) degree with specialization in rheumatology, dermatology, gastroenterology, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least five years of clinical or pharmaceutical experience in a medical function, with experience in Autoimmune diseases preferred.
  • Leadership and Influence: Proven ability to balance scientific priorities with business goals, and to influence and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Communication: Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required for clear communication with global and local teams.
  • Medical Affairs Experience: Experience with new product launches and medical affairs is highly preferred.

  • Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize complex tasks and deliverables.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement medical strategies that align with the company’s long-term objectives.
