Position Overview

As a Diagnostic Medical Liaison, you will play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on patients’ lives. This role supports timely, high-quality in-market companion diagnostics and testing solutions to enable optimal patient access and treatment throughout the lifecycle of the product.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop relationships with pathologists, molecular pathologists, molecular diagnostics kit suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Identify barriers to diagnostic testing and execute local tactical plans to support and educate on appropriate testing.
  • Develop robust testing facilities, supporting protocol implementation, identifying and removing bottlenecks, and monitoring testing performance.
  • Generate demand through education, awareness, and advocacy.
  • Deliver approved educational information on disease, pathology, and diagnostics to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide insights to core medical teams to shape the local strategy.
  • Support externally sponsored research as appropriate.
  • Manage strategic key accounts effectively.
  • Adhere to AstraZeneca’s Code of Conduct and compliance regulations.

Internal & External Collaboration:

  • Internal Contacts: Diagnostics Lead, Core Medical Team, Brand Teams.
  • External Engagement: Healthcare professionals, diagnostic partners, advocacy groups, professional societies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Life Sciences/Medical Biotechnology or Ph.D. (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in the molecular diagnostic market and clinical testing, preferably in oncology (lung cancer, women’s cancer, immunotherapy).
  • Strong knowledge of diagnostic verification and validation procedures.
  • Ability to travel (>50% travel required, varies by geography).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet short timelines.
  • Thorough knowledge of diagnostic test development and regulatory environments in oncology.
  • Proven leadership in cross-functional project teams.
  • Strong execution focus.
