As the Diagnostic Executive, you will leverage your expertise in medical diagnostics to facilitate seamless access to testing and drive adoption within assigned territories. This role directly impacts patients’ lives by supporting the timely, high-quality in-market companion diagnostics and testing solutions, ensuring optimal patient access and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

Cancer Biomarker Testing:

  • Identify barriers to cancer biomarker testing through engagement with testing laboratories, diagnostic kit companies, and healthcare professionals (HCPs).

  • Execute tactical plans in your territory to increase adoption of appropriate testing, monitoring testing rates and test failure rates.

  • Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders, including pathologists, molecular pathologists, molecular diagnostics kit suppliers, laboratory decision makers, and scientific organizations.

  • Develop strategic testing facilities in key centers, providing protocol support and removing bottlenecks to improve testing access and performance.

  • Drive demand generation through education, advocacy, and awareness-building within the oncology community.

Collaborative Team Support:

  • Work closely with the Diagnostics team, core medical teams, brand medical leads, and brand teams to execute tactical plans.

  • Provide insights to core medical teams to inform the development of India-specific strategies and medical plans.

  • Collaborate with Medical Scientific Liaisons and Field Sales Teams to execute plans effectively in alignment with local medical and scientific priorities.

Strategic Key Account Management:

  • Manage relationships with key accounts, including diagnostic partners, HCPs, and professional associations.

  • Provide continuous support to remove barriers and advance the scientific development of testing solutions.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Adhere to AstraZeneca’s Code of Conduct, the Policy Handbook, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements for your role.

Internal Contacts:

  • Diagnostics team

  • Core medical teams, including brand medical leads

  • Brand Teams, in coordination with the Diagnostic Lead

External Contacts:

  • Oncologists and pathologists

  • Diagnostic partners, including labs

  • Advocacy groups and national/regional professional associations and societies

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Life Sciences, Medical Biotechnology, or Pharmacy.

  • Experience in molecular diagnostic marketing and clinical test sales, with a preference for oncology experience (e.g., lung cancer, women’s cancers, immunotherapy).

  • Expertise in discussing scientific content to multiple audiences.

  • Ability to travel (>50%; percentage varies by geography).

Preferred Requirements:

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet short timelines, utilizing all available resources for problem-solving.

  • In-depth knowledge of diagnostic test development, the regulatory environment, and oncology (clinical trial experience is preferred).

  • Proven leadership in cross-functional project teams.

  • Strong focus on execution.
