Position Summary
As a Data Modeling Manager Associate, you will develop conceptual and logical data models to support R&D data strategy, ensuring structured data capture, interoperability, and long-term data reuse. This role is pivotal in ensuring data standards and governance are upheld across R&D projects and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Data Modeling & Design
Develop conceptual and logical data models, data dictionaries, and ontologies.
Validate physical data models in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Maintain documentation on data flows, harmonization, hierarchies, and standards.
Governance & Standards
Support data governance policies, frameworks, and procedures across R&D.
Maintain modeling/naming standards and source-to-target data mapping.
Educate stakeholders on data management principles and practices.
Collaboration & Strategy
Gather requirements from business analysts, scientists, and stakeholders.
Serve as a consultant on data-centric R&D initiatives and tech implementations.
Identify and resolve data-related gaps between current and future states.
Innovation & Scalability
Design scalable, reusable models aligned to long-term strategic goals.
Contribute to building FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data infrastructure.

Qualifications
Experience
5+ years in data modeling, architecture, or data management roles.
Experience in Pharma R&D or life sciences data domains is highly desirable.
Strong experience in SQL, data modeling, and database design.
Familiarity with RDF, NoSQL, ontologies, and hierarchical data models.
Background in system design, data quality/compliance, and platform management.
Skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence teams.
Attention to detail, decision-making, and time management.
Education
Bachelor’s in Science, Engineering, Biology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
