About the Role

As a Data Anonymization Analyst at Novartis, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely and high-quality anonymization of clinical datasets. You will collaborate with internal and external teams, provide anonymization recommendations, and maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform data anonymization activities for data42 projects.

  • Collaborate with other data anonymization analysts on assigned projects.

  • Make anonymization decisions and recommendations as required.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure anonymization and reporting meet quality standards and timelines.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional teams; summarize and present the status of deliverables.

  • Ensure compliance with company, departmental, and industry standards (e.g., CDISC); clarify project-level requirements in liaison with functional leadership.

  • Ensure timely and accurate anonymization and validation of datasets and outputs.

  • Maintain quality control and audit readiness for all anonymization deliverables.

  • Stay updated on programming software (e.g., SAS) and industry standards (e.g., CDISC SDTM/ADaM, eCTD, Define.xml); attend functional meetings and training.

  • Apply and ideate around risk-based anonymization strategies, using statistical approaches to anonymize data effectively.

  • Timely and high-quality delivery of anonymization outputs.

  • Collaboration and alignment with other data42 product teams.

  • Effective execution of responsibilities and contributions as assessed by the Anonymization Product Owner and customers.

  • Innovative solutions and process improvements to support efficient anonymization.


Impact

  • Ensure successful delivery of assigned projects with high-quality anonymization output.

  • Contribute to innovative and efficient anonymization processes.

  • Support the data42 anonymization product team with impactful work products.


Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • BA/BS/MS or international equivalent in Statistics (preferred), Computer Science, Mathematics, Life Sciences (Genetics/Bioinformatics), or related fields.

Experience:

  • 2–3 years in a programming role managing end-to-end anonymization or related projects in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or clinical trial support.

  • Hands-on experience with SAS and executing anonymization applications (preferably using risk-based anonymization methodology).

  • Knowledge of CDISC data structures and standard programming practices.

  • Familiarity with Python and platforms like Databricks or Palantir Foundry is an advantage.

  • Exposure to AI/LLM approaches for anonymizing data and autonomous workflows.

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to statistical programming (e.g., GCP).

  • Strong knowledge of data management, data anonymization, and clinical data structures.

  • Good communication, negotiation, and global collaboration skills.

  • Project management experience in complex global matrix structures.

  • Attention to detail and experience with agile methodologies.

Languages:

  • Fluent in English (oral and written).
