Amgen’s Worldwide Compliance and Business Ethics (WC&BE) Department brings together a highly qualified team of professionals driven by integrity, respect, talent, creativity, and passion. The Compliance Director role is a key leadership position within Amgen India, reporting to the Associate Vice President of Compliance for Global Functions, and serving as part of the Amgen India site leadership team.
This role will provide strategic direction, oversee compliance programs, and lead compliance capabilities at Amgen India’s capabilities center.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities
Provide strategic advice on Amgen’s global compliance program framework.
Join Amgen India’s site leadership team and co-chair the compliance steering committee with the Managing Director.
Build and strengthen compliance program controls and risk mitigation plans.
Advise senior leadership on compliance priorities and regulatory expectations.
Program Development & Execution
Develop global compliance capabilities from Amgen India (e.g., policies, training governance, monitoring, investigations).
Drive implementation of Amgen’s compliance monitoring and auditing plans.
Design and deliver robust compliance training programs and awareness initiatives.
Draft and deploy local compliance policies to address region-specific requirements.
Establish and execute local compliance monitoring frameworks based on risk assessments.
Operational Compliance Management
Maintain knowledge of Amgen’s Global Compliance Policies and SOPs.
Interpret and apply compliance policies in alignment with Indian regulatory codes (e.g., Prevention of Corruption Act, OPPI, UCPMP).
Access internal systems (SAP, Concur, C3) for compliance-related assessments.
Provide guidance on compliance topics including:
Interactions with government officials
Anti-corruption practices
Protection of personal information
External conference participation
Global commercial tactics with healthcare professionals
Conflict of interest and confidential information
Hotline investigations and compliance culture building
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree with 14–16 years of Information Systems experience OR
Bachelor’s degree with 16–18 years of Information Systems experience
At least 12+ years in a corporate advisory or procedural support role with expertise in operational controls for Global Capability Centers
Strong communication skills, including fluency in English
Proven experience in:
Building compliance controls, policies, and processes
Anti-corruption, conflict of interest, compliance investigations, and corporate monitoring
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience in developing compliance frameworks for Global Capability Centers in the biopharmaceutical industry
Experience providing compliance counsel at the corporate executive level
Knowledge and fluency in emerging technologies, including:
Artificial Intelligence
Data Analytics
Risk Assessment Tools
