Job Summary

Optum is hiring an experienced Collections Supervisor to lead its billing and collections team in Chennai. The role involves optimizing accounts receivable (AR) operations, driving team performance, and ensuring KPI targets are met while maintaining compliance with healthcare billing standards. Responsibilities

  • Manage billing and collection teams to achieve AR reduction and cash collection goals.

  • Conduct coaching sessions, daily huddles, and performance reviews to enhance team efficiency.

  • Oversee attendance, schedule adherence, and ensure compliance with organizational policies.

  • Handle escalations, conduct root cause analysis, and provide timely resolutions.

  • Track, analyze, and report on team performance metrics and trends.

  • Monitor workflow allocation and capacity planning to ensure SLA adherence.

  • Support audits, quality checks, and error analysis to maintain high operational standards.

  • Provide leadership, career development plans, and succession strategies for team members.

  • Participate in training sessions, client calls, and process improvement initiatives.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in Hospital Revenue Cycle Management (RCM).

  • 1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience.

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance policies, and billing procedures.

  • Proficiency in Excel and basic data analysis.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to manage escalations, team performance, and workflow optimization.

  • Self-driven with strong decision-making and organizational skills.
