Collections Representative – US Health Care / RCM / AR Calling

Job Summary:
Optum is seeking a Collections Representative experienced in US healthcare, revenue cycle management (RCM), or AR calling for its growing operations in Chennai. This role is critical in managing account receivables, resolving claim denials, and driving revenue cycle efficiencies for healthcare clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review outstanding insurance balances and resolve pending claim payments by coordinating with payers, patients, and clients

  • Analyze denial trends and recommend strategies to improve first-pass resolution and minimize AR aging

  • Demonstrate understanding of the complete claim life cycle and accounting processes

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned workflow items within defined quality parameters

  • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and denial patterns, identify trends, and contribute to continuous process improvements

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned and comply with all organizational policies, including shift flexibility and location transfers as per business needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate in any discipline

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in healthcare AR / denial management (Hospital Billing)

  • In-depth knowledge of medical insurance types (HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, Private Payers)

  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws

  • Working knowledge of AR systems and workflow-related applications

  • Excellent verbal communication skills in neutral American English accent

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, and related MS Office tools

  • Strong judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • High typing accuracy and professional work ethic

  • Committed to delivering superior client and patient satisfaction

Estimated Salary: ₹3.5 LPA – ₹5.5 LPA (based on experience and location norms)
