Job Overview

Fortrea is seeking experienced Clinical Team Leads (CTLs) with oncology backgrounds to join our FSP team. CTLs function as the Clinical Project Manager (CPM) within the core project team and own the clinical delivery of research trials. The role involves oversight of clinical and site management, ensuring successful delivery of trials within contractual, operational, and budgetary requirements, while maintaining client relationships.


Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Project Leadership

  • Drive clinical project performance to meet contractual deliverables and client needs.

  • Lead the development of clinical project strategies and prioritization of tasks.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations for new business as needed.

  • Oversee operational aspects supporting subject recruitment, retention, and vendor management.

  • Identify clinical, financial, and quality risks; implement risk mitigation strategies.

  • Utilize data sources, dashboards, and risk management strategies to drive innovation and problem-solving.

  • Ensure adherence to project governance, SOPs, regulatory, and client requirements.

2. Budget & Resource Management

  • Manage clinical project budgets, resources, and scope.

  • Ensure accurate forecasting of clinical project revenue and management of project costs.

  • Lead management of scope changes and change order processes.

  • Track KPIs and ensure project team awareness of client-specific metrics.

3. Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide inspiring leadership to create high-performing clinical project teams.

  • Facilitate communication, teamwork, and delivery within the clinical team.

  • Develop, mentor, and provide feedback to team members.

  • Ensure accurate clinical resource projections and escalate resource challenges as needed.

4. Regulatory & Compliance

  • Participate in and oversee regulatory/ethics committee submissions, tracking, and documentation.

  • Ensure all clinical operations adhere to ICH/GCP standards, SOPs, and international regulatory requirements.

5. Business Support

  • Support new business activities including Bid Defense preparation and meetings.

  • Represent clinical delivery with clients and liaise professionally as needed.

6. Other Duties

  • Perform any other tasks as required by management.


Qualifications

Minimum Required:

  • University/college degree (life sciences preferred) or related allied health certification (nursing, medical, laboratory technology).

  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).

  • Prior experience as a Clinical Team Lead.

  • 5+ years clinical research/monitoring experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Working knowledge of ICH Guidelines, GCP, and international regulatory requirements.

  • Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Project, Access, PowerPoint).

  • Experience managing projects in a matrix and virtual environment.

  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.

  • Oncology experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree.

  • PMP certification.

  • 2+ years CRA experience (on-site or in-house).

  • Demonstrated ability to inspire teamwork, mentor staff, and manage competing priorities effectively.

  • Financial awareness and ability to use financial tracking systems.
