Position Overview

Fortrea is seeking an experienced Clinical Team Lead (CTL) with a strong oncology background to join our Functional Service Provider (FSP) team. The CTL will lead the clinical delivery of oncology clinical trials, overseeing site management, clinical operations, and team performance, while serving as a primary liaison with the client.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of clinical research or monitoring experience, prior experience as a Clinical Team Lead, and demonstrated expertise in oncology trials. Experience in CRA roles, oncology protocols, and managing multi-site trials in a matrixed, virtual environment is required.

This role offers exposure to global clinical trials, regulatory compliance oversight, and the opportunity to lead high-performing clinical teams in oncology research.


Key Responsibilities

  • Take accountability for clinical project performance, ensuring delivery of contractual objectives and operational excellence.

  • Drive communication and collaboration across matrixed and multicultural teams.

  • Lead development and execution of clinical project strategies, including risk management, resource planning, and prioritization.

  • Oversee site management, subject recruitment and retention, and clinical vendor activities.

  • Identify and mitigate project, financial, and quality risks using quality-by-design principles.

  • Utilize data dashboards, risk assessments, and innovative solutions to optimize project delivery.

  • Ensure adherence to project governance, SOPs, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.

  • Partner with project stakeholders to manage budgets, forecast revenue, and control costs.

  • Lead change management processes and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for clinical project team members.

  • Supervise and participate in regulatory and ethics committee submissions, tracking, and documentation.

  • Support new business initiatives, including bid defense and project scoping.

  • Travel up to 25% as required to meet project and client needs.


Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • University/College degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Medical, or related allied health profession; relevant experience may substitute for education.

  • 5+ years of clinical research or monitoring experience, including prior Clinical Team Lead experience.

  • Oncology trial experience required.

  • Working knowledge of ICH/GCP guidelines and international regulatory requirements.

  • Advanced computer proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access).

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to mentor and supervise team members, manage competing priorities, and liaise with clients professionally.

  • Experience in matrixed and virtual team environments.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in relevant field.

  • PMP certification.

  • 2+ years CRA experience, on-site or in-house.

  • Proven financial management skills, including budget tracking and forecasting.

  • Salary Range: $130,000 – $145,000 USD annually
