Job Overview

ICON plc is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Systems Specialist to join its Interactive Response Technology (IRT) team in a fully remote United States-based role.

The Clinical Systems Specialist will support the testing, validation, and quality review of clinical systems used in clinical trials. The role involves working closely with internal teams, sponsors, and external vendors to ensure clinical technology platforms function accurately and comply with study requirements, regulatory standards, and user expectations.

This position is ideal for professionals with experience in:

  • Clinical systems testing
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Clinical trial technologies
  • CRO or pharmaceutical operations
  • IRT systems and validation workflows

Experience Required

Required Experience

  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in system testing
  • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO industry experience preferred

Freshers Eligibility

  • Freshers are NOT eligible
  • Prior experience in clinical systems or software/system testing is required

Educational Qualification

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Systems Testing

  • Test clinical system components from recognized clinical technology vendors
  • Ensure systems meet study protocol and functional requirements
  • Identify and document testing issues and resolutions

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  • Participate in:
    • UAT planning
    • UAT execution
    • UAT coordination
    • Defect resolution
  • Create and maintain UAT documentation and testing records

Protocol & Requirement Analysis

  • Translate protocol requirements into system functionality expectations
