Role Summary

This role provides statistical support within the Rheumatology group of the Inflammation and Immunology & Specialty Care division at Pfizer R&D. The Associate Director will design clinical trials, develop protocols and statistical analysis plans, conduct statistical analyses, interpret and present results, and co-author scientific reports and publications. The role also supports regulatory submissions, requiring creative and up-to-date methodological thinking. Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (R, SAS, or Python) is required. Key Responsibilities

  • Offer rigorous statistical guidance for study design, development plans, regulatory submissions, and commercialization projects. Pfizer

  • Ensure quality and timely statistical deliverables aligned with study and submission schedules. Pfizer

  • Collaborate effectively with clinical, programming, and partner teams—providing statistical leadership across multifunctional studies and regulatory efforts. Pfizer

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and Pfizer's internal standards for all statistical activities. Pfizer

  • Handle planning, delivery, and communication of statistical outputs—including analyses, data presentations, reports, exploratory/meta-analyses, modeling, scientific publications, presentations, and support for product defense. Pfizer

  • Maintain a notable presence in regulatory and professional communities, and influence development of regulatory guidelines and their interpretation. Pfizer

  • Contribute to Pfizer’s internal statistics community through research collaborations, shared scholarship, presentations, and cross-division learning. Pfizer


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field with 8+ years of clinical trials experience —or— PhD with 4+ years of clinical trial experience. Pfizer

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Pfizer

  • Broad understanding of statistical theory and its applications. Pfizer

  • Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (R, SAS, or Python). Pfizer

  • Experience using reproducible research tools (e.g., R Markdown, Quarto, Git/GitHub). Pfizer

  • Ability to explain statistical concepts clearly to non-statisticians. Pfizer

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Pfizer

  • Experience in statistical modeling and inference with clinical data. Pfizer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced computational skills. Pfizer

  • Familiarity with diverse study designs, protocol development, and statistical analysis planning. Pfizer

  • Experience or interest in applying large language models (LLMs) in clinical contexts is a plus. Pfizer

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary Range (USD): $135,100 to $225,100 annually. Pfizer

  • Performance Bonus: Eligible for Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a 17.5% target bonus. Pfizer
