Position Overview:

Abbott is building a slate of candidates for an upcoming Clinical Specialist I, CPT position in Salem, OR. This role will be part of the Neuromodulation team, which focuses on implantable devices used to help individuals suffering from chronic pain and movement disorders. The Clinical Specialist will provide clinical and technical support to sales teams, healthcare professionals, and customers, ensuring a strong understanding and use of Abbott's Chronic Pain Therapies product line.


What You’ll Work On:

  • Clinical Support & Sales Assistance:

    • Provide technical, clinical, and programming assistance to Territory Managers.
    • Support after-hours calls and activities as needed.
    • Assist Territory Managers in increasing their selling time by managing customer relationships and technical tasks.
  • Customer Engagement:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers in assigned regions, fostering trust and rapport.
    • Conduct in-services, educational sessions, and troubleshooting with medical professionals on Abbott's products.
    • Identify customer training needs and provide appropriate solutions to increase product usage and understanding.
  • Sales Support & Market Intelligence:

    • Conduct evaluations of accounts to develop sales strategies for capital equipment opportunities.
    • Monitor competitor activities, product pricing, and sales strategies to inform Abbott’s sales approaches.
  • Product Knowledge & Education:

    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Abbott Chronic Pain Therapies and implantable devices.
    • Provide feedback to healthcare providers in both operating and non-operating room settings regarding product directions for use.
  • Compliance & Communication:

    • Ensure all activities comply with FDA regulations, company policies, and procedures.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Travel:

    • Travel approximately 25% within the assigned region and/or outside the region as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Associate’s Degree or technical certification; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience:

    • 1–2 years of work experience, ideally in a clinical setting with patient interaction (e.g., physical therapy, nursing, or medical product sales).
    • Strong understanding of clinical data, particularly in the chronic pain therapies space.
  • Skills:

    • Strong clinical skills and ability to communicate complex clinical data effectively.
    • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences.
    • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Flexible, able to adapt to unpredictable schedules and operating room changes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 1–3 years’ experience in a similar role within a spinal cord stimulation (SCS) setting or with other implantable medical devices.
    • Previous experience with Abbott or a similar medical device company is a plus.

Compensation:

  • Base Pay Range: $57,300.00 – $114,700.00. Pay may vary by location.
