Clinical Site Lead – Cardiovascular Trials | Abbott – Houston, TX

Job Summary:

Abbott, a global leader in medical devices and healthcare innovation, is hiring a Clinical Site Lead to drive operational excellence across clinical trials in cardiovascular therapies, including Vascular, Electrophysiology (EP), Structural Heart, and Heart Failure. Based in Houston, Texas, this field-based position plays a vital role in managing site performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting procedure-based studies for interventional cardiology.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and maintain clinical trial sites across Texas and Oklahoma.

  • Manage startup, initiation, and enrollment phases of cardiovascular studies.

  • Ensure site compliance with ICH-GCP and Abbott protocols.

  • Train investigators and site staff on protocol adherence and clinical technology.

  • Attend and support cardiac procedures, providing clinical and technical expertise.

  • Monitor recruitment, data integrity, and adverse event reporting.

  • Review data, resolve discrepancies, and maintain audit-ready documentation.

  • Collaborate with commercial teams on product education and trial launches.

  • Serve as a resource for regulatory guidance, site issue resolution, and compliance metrics.

  • Maintain certifications and remain up to date on disease state knowledge and trial designs.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical research or interventional cardiology experience.

  • Strong knowledge of clinical trial processes, compliance, and FDA/GCP standards.

  • Experience in catheterization lab or operating room preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in data review, site documentation, and monitoring tools.

  • Willingness to travel as needed for site support and trial oversight.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, EMT, or Physician Assistant training.

  • Experience in cardiovascular clinical trials or medical device industry.

  • Demonstrated success in site management and clinical data compliance.

  • Knowledge of regulatory documentation and start-up procedures.
