🧬 Role Overview

As a Director in Clinical Science within Pfizer’s Vaccines division, you will provide clinical and scientific program support for global clinical studies, ensuring consistency of approach and strategy. You will be responsible for clinical sciences project management support on a program level and/or responsible for studies with a high degree of complexity.


🔍 Key Responsibilities

  • Scientific Oversight: Collaborate with the Global Clinical Lead to ensure the design, scientific oversight, data integrity, and quality of clinical studies within the assigned program.

  • Documentation: Author or oversee the authoring of protocols, study-level informed consent documents, and contribute to authoring of site training materials, clinical study reports, regulatory responses, and other clinical and regulatory documents.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other clinical colleagues, clinical operations, and other functional lines for the successful and consistent implementation and execution of clinical studies within the assigned program.

  • Data Review Strategy: Set the clinical data review strategy and lead the clinical sciences team in the collection of quality data and review of emerging clinical data and trends; review and query data; present and discuss relevant data to appropriate teams and other internal and external stakeholders.

  • Safety Monitoring: In close partnership with medically qualified colleagues, analyze the emerging safety profile of the drug, keeping clinical and safety colleagues informed of changes in the safety profile as they occur in the assigned studies.

  • Compliance and Quality: Follow relevant SOPs and regulations, comply with applicable trainings, seek opportunities to further improve quality and efficiency of clinical procedures; lead or actively participate in portfolio- and enterprise-level workgroups aimed at optimizing Pfizer's clinical development procedures; may be a subject matter expert or business process owner for a relevant SOP or procedure.

  • Team Leadership: May supervise, mentor, and/or develop others.


🎓 Required Qualifications

  • Education: BA/BS Degree in a science or health-related discipline.

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role in industry/CRO.

  • Skills:

    • Advanced knowledge of the clinical research process and Good Clinical Practices from previous employment experience.

    • Extensive experience in the vaccines therapeutic area.

    • Proven record of independently writing clinical protocols and study documents.

    • Working knowledge of statistics, data analysis, and data interpretation.

    • Process improvement experience.

    • Exceptional written and oral communication and cross-functional collaborative skills.

    • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    • Significant experience leading operational and/or strategic teams.


🌟 Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degrees: Relevant PhD or PharmD and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in industry/CRO, OR MS and a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role in industry/CRO.

  • Leadership Capabilities: Demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities, including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.


💰 Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $169,700 – $282,900 per year.

  • Bonus: Eligible for Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a target bonus of 20.0% of base salary.

  • Long-Term Incentive: Eligibility to participate in Pfizer’s share-based long-term incentive program.
