Job Description
Fortrea, a leading global Clinical Research Organization (CRO), is seeking a Clinical Research Technician II to join our Madison, WI facility. As part of one of the largest CROs in the world with Early Phase Clinical Research Units in the UK and US, you will interact directly with healthy volunteer participants and gain hands-on experience in clinical trials.

This role offers exposure to a wide variety of therapeutic areas and study designs, including ascending dose, first-in-human, food effect, and drug-drug interaction studies. You will work with top pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies at a critical stage of drug development, contributing directly to safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics evaluation of investigational therapies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality patient care and clinical support in compliance with study protocols.

  • Perform vital signs assessments including blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, and weight measurements.

  • Prepare and accurately record ECGs and Holter monitoring data.

  • Collect, process, and distribute biological samples as per protocol requirements.

  • Monitor participant meals to ensure dietary compliance.

  • Assist with room preparation, medical equipment setup, and study screening procedures.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized study environment.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinical research operations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

  • EMT, Phlebotomy, CMA, or CNA certification is preferred.

  • Associates degree in a related field with a minimum of 1 year clinical research experience may substitute for a BS degree.

  • High School Diploma plus 1–2 years as a Clinical Research Technician I may substitute for a BS degree.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, protocol-driven, technology-based environment.

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability skills.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of clinical research experience or equivalent healthcare experience.

  • Experience with patient interaction, laboratory procedures, and electronic data capture is preferred.

Physical Requirements
