Purpose of the Role:

The Clinical Research Physician (CRP) for Neuroscience plays a vital role in medical affairs and development teams, providing strategic planning support to ensure successful product launches and commercialization efforts. The CRP supports the company’s mission to meet patient needs by working across multiple teams, including Medical Affairs, Global Development, Clinical Operations, and others. Key responsibilities include contributing to clinical plans, conducting local clinical trials, engaging with key stakeholders such as healthcare providers (HCPs), and ensuring regulatory compliance throughout product development phases.

Primary Responsibilities:

Medical Expertise & Leadership in Neuroscience:

  • Provide medical expertise in Neuroscience, specifically for Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia, and other conditions within Lilly’s Neuroscience product portfolio.
  • Develop partnerships with clinicians, external groups, and relevant functions like Pricing, Reimbursement & Access (PRA), Global Product Safety, and Marketing.
  • Lead and mentor Medical Affairs teams (MAPs, MSLs) to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Drive the development of medical education initiatives, including material approvals and collaboration with other Lilly functions.
  • Address scientific information needs and lead data analysis efforts to support customer inquiries and enhance the patient experience.

Scientific Data Dissemination & Publications:

  • Ensure comprehensive knowledge of product data, contribute to regulatory submissions, and support Health Technology Assessments (HTAs).
  • Drive the process for scientific publications and contribute to competitor analysis and responses.
  • Deliver presentations to healthcare providers and other stakeholders as needed.

Clinical Planning & Research Execution:

  • Contribute to global and regional clinical trial (CT) plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives and quality standards.
  • Actively participate in clinical trial design, site selection, investigator interactions, and trial initiation.
  • Support the local execution of global/regional clinical trials in collaboration with Clinical Operations and other teams.

External Relations & Engagement:

  • Engage with healthcare professionals (HCPs), advocacy groups, and professional societies to drive product knowledge and scientific exchange.
  • Foster relationships with thought leaders and involve them in clinical research and scientific communications.
  • Represent Lilly at internal and external meetings, conferences, and advisory boards.

People Leadership & Development:

  • Lead the development of Medical Affairs Professionals (MAPs) and MSLs, providing mentorship and performance management.
  • Participate in recruitment efforts, diversity, and retention programs, and support the professional growth of the team.
  • Collaborate with MSLs on field medical plans, ensuring scientific excellence in data dissemination and customer engagement.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Basic Requirements: MBBS/MD or equivalent medical qualification with full medical council registration or eligibility.
  • Therapeutic Expertise: Experience in Neuroscience, particularly in clinical or industry settings.
  • Desired: Expertise in Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia, and related conditions is highly desirable.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team development and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to balance scientific priorities with business goals and effectively communicate complex data.
  • Proven experience in clinical trial management, scientific communication, and strategic medical planning.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support business activities.
