🏢 About the Role
Fortrea is seeking a Clinical Research Physician to join our Phase I site in Madison, WI. This is a full-time, onsite position offering hands-on experience in early-phase clinical trials. You will play a pivotal role in medical oversight, participant safety, and clinical research leadership — all while maintaining an excellent work-life balance.

🔍 Role Highlights
Provide onsite medical coverage and oversight for healthy volunteer studies
Maintain excellent work-life balance with a steady Monday–Friday schedule (7:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
(Schedule may vary based on enrollment periods)
Participate in Call Rotation (1:5) — every fifth weekend (from home; come in as needed)
Communicate effectively across clinical teams, regulatory bodies, and study participants
Support study protocols, attend IRB/IEC meetings, and host client visits
Conduct pre-study, on-study, and post-study medical examinations
Serve as Sub-Investigator (Sub-I) or Principal Investigator (PI) as assigned
Perform additional duties as required
🎓 Qualifications
Education: MD or DO
Licensure: Active Wisconsin Medical License + DEA Certification
Certifications: CPR / ACLS (Required)
Experience: Minimum 2 years clinical experience (Family Medicine or Primary Care preferred)
Clinical Research Experience: Prior experience in clinical trials preferred
Language Proficiency: English (speaking, writing, and reading)
Relocation: Open to candidates willing to relocate and obtain Wisconsin state licensure

Work in upright/stationary position for 6–8 hours daily
Repetitive hand movements for lab operations and computer use
Frequent bending, twisting, crouching, and stooping
Light to moderate lifting/carrying (15–20 lbs)
Regular and consistent attendance; varied hours may be required
