Role Summary

The Clinical Research Nursing Provider ensures participant safety, accurate data collection, and adherence to study protocols. The role involves performing clinical nursing duties, supporting trial subjects, maintaining source documentation, and contributing to reliable research outcomes. Flexibility to work alternative hours, including weekends and evenings, is required.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Research Execution

  • Execute clinical research studies in accordance with scientific, ethical, and regulatory guidelines and Pfizer SOPs.

  • Collect data and samples per protocol from screening to final visit, following ALCOA standards.

  • Ensure participant safety, maintain clinical supplies and code carts.

  • Observe, record, and communicate adverse events; provide patient care under medical provider supervision.

  • Conduct nursing assessments, administer study medications, monitor cardiac function, and provide basic nursing care and emergency interventions.

  • Maintain proficiency in multiple data collection methods (ECG, vital signs, venipuncture, telemetry).

Participant Support & Education

  • Provide face-to-face instructions and support to clinical research participants.

  • Assist in human biological sample management, labeling, and source documentation completion.

Operational & Data Management

  • Maintain equipment logs, calibration records, and adequate clinical supplies.

  • Ensure preventive maintenance of assigned equipment.

  • Report and document any study issues, incidents, or discrepancies.

  • Resolve queries from project managers or clinical coordinators.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent life science/healthcare education.

  • Current BLS/ILS/ACLS certification.

  • Healthcare licensure per state/country statute.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant healthcare experience, including phlebotomy/venipuncture and ECG proficiency.

  • Experience in pharmaceutical or medical research preferred.

Preferred

  • Technical skills: Excellent nursing assessment, emergency interventions, and standard of care.

  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office proficiency, familiarity with e-HR and laboratory data systems, effective use of electronic communication (Email, video conferencing, IM).

  • Scientific/Clinical Knowledge: Medical terminology, nursing and research techniques, clinical research applications, understanding emerging safety data.

  • Language: English required; bilingual Spanish highly desirable for New Haven CRU.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills; ability to work in interdepartmental teams.

  • Attributes: Change agile, action-oriented, business-focused.


Work Schedule & Travel

  • On-site position in New Haven, CT

  • Flexibility for additional hours including weekends/evenings as required


Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Pay: $32.46 – $54.10

  • Eligible for overtime, weekend, holiday, and other pay premiums
