    Introduction to the Role:

    Are you passionate about programming and clinical trials? As a Clinical Programmer I at AstraZeneca, you will contribute to the success of clinical studies by supporting programming and validation activities for data cleaning and review listings in ongoing clinical trials. Working under the guidance of an experienced programmer, you will handle tasks of low to medium complexity and scope.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Your role will include the following duties and responsibilities:

    • Program Development & Validation:

      • Design, develop, implement, and validate programs using SAS, Python, R, or dashboard applications to process, analyze, and report clinical trial data.
      • Ensure high-quality deliverables within established frameworks.

    • Data Cleaning Support:

      • Under guidance, create a catalogue of reports to support data cleaning activities, including automating manual checks, reconciliation, and programming edit checks for TPV data.
      • Program reports to identify missing pages and detect subject-level errors.

    • Reporting & Metrics:

      • Create reports to measure data cleaning status and generate visualizations and dashboards to highlight discrepancies and trends in EDC and TPV data.
      • Maintain and update the catalogue of reports based on changes to requirements.

    • Collaboration & Support:

      • Support both internal and external users in ensuring the availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards.
      • Proactively update lead programmers on progress and any issues related to deliverables.

    • Documentation & Compliance:

      • Complete documentation associated with programming tasks, including peer reviews and report specifications, in compliance with SOPs.

    • Cross-Functional Projects:

      • Support the implementation of cross-functional projects that are part of the clinical programming roadmap.

    Essential Skills & Experience:

    • Education:

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, life sciences, or statistics.

    • Programming Skills:

      • Experience with programming in SAS, Python, and SQL.

    • Knowledge:

      • Basic knowledge of dashboard development.
      • Basic understanding of the clinical development process.

    • Communication & Teamwork:

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Ability to work effectively in a global team environment.

    • Analytical Skills:

      • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.

    Desirable Skills & Experience:

    • Industry Knowledge:

      • Knowledge of industry standards.

    • Programming Experience:

      • Prior experience with Python, R, SQL, MicroStrategy, or dashboard applications.

    • Data Knowledge:

      • Basic knowledge of data capture, data models, and data mining.
