About the Role

The Clinical Educator (CE) plays a pivotal role in supporting Sanofi’s Tzield (Type 1 Diabetes) program under the General Medicines Business Unit.
This field-based position focuses on providing personalized education and hands-on support to patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals involved in Tzield’s FDA-approved 14-day infusion therapy.

The CE ensures a positive, informed, and seamless patient experience, bridging gaps between healthcare teams, patients, and Sanofi’s internal departments.
This role demands a high level of empathy, clinical knowledge, and collaboration to optimize patient care and treatment outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

Patient & Caregiver Support

  • Deliver comprehensive education on disease, inheritance, and product information through calls, live/virtual meetings, and patient education programs.

  • Evaluate patient needs and develop strategic action plans to facilitate treatment as recommended by their healthcare provider.

  • Organize and oversee Patient Mentor Programs, connecting new patients with mentors for one-on-one guidance.

  • Maintain empathetic communication to support patients through treatment complexities.

Healthcare Provider Collaboration

  • Establish strong professional relationships with Endocrinologists, NPs, PAs, Nurses, PharmDs, and HHA nurses.

  • Conduct in-depth product and infusion training for healthcare providers in both clinical and home settings.

  • Support healthcare teams in identifying and resolving access barriers to ensure smooth therapy initiation.

  • Educate HCPs about infusion protocols and address any challenges in patient adherence.

Cross-Functional Team Engagement

  • Partner with Commercial, Access, Medical, and Patient Support teams to align strategies and optimize the patient journey.

  • Share patient insights and collaborate on improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and outcomes.

  • Report and document all activities, metrics, and outcomes in CRM systems accurately and promptly.

Compliance & Continuous Learning

  • Ensure full compliance with all corporate, legal, and industry regulations, including AE reporting.

  • Stay updated through continuing medical and scientific education, attending symposiums, workshops, and internal training.

  • Represent Sanofi at community and advocacy events to enhance disease awareness and patient support.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Healthcare, Life Sciences, or Nursing.

  • 3–5 years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Proven success in field-based or patient-facing roles.

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Technical proficiency with CRM and digital learning platforms.

  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel extensively (60–80%).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IV infusions and Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) therapy.

  • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification preferred.

  • Knowledge of buy-and-bill therapy, managed care, and infusion reimbursement systems.

  • Strong understanding of Tzield and related Sanofi therapies.

  • Bilingual proficiency (Spanish preferred).

  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence, teamwork, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
