Job Summary:
Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories Professional Scientific Services (PSS) seeks a dedicated Clinical Day 1 Group Leader to oversee process science testing and laboratory operations in Rensselaer, NY. This full-time, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates with laboratory leadership, cGMP knowledge, and analytical method experience to contribute to biopharmaceutical development and testing while growing their professional career in a global scientific organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory Responsibilities:
Conduct Process Science sample testing of pharmaceutical products.
Support technical transfer testing for development teams.
Perform in-person, real-time task verifications and equipment maintenance.
Calibrate/verify instruments prior to use.
Utilize electronic systems for sample handling, data documentation, and procedural reporting.
Ensure compliance with GDP and ALCOA+ principles in all documentation.
Review lab results, logbooks, and report quality deviations.
Handle and label samples, materials, and equipment according to SOPs.
Maintain organized, clean, and compliant lab spaces.
Complete safety and procedural trainings.
Leadership Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate daily workloads of the team.
Conduct one-on-one meetings and team huddles.
Monitor, document, and report productivity and quality metrics.
Perform lab safety checks and ensure employee compliance.
Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of new staff.
Deliver training to new and existing team members.
Support overtime and weekend shift scheduling as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or equivalent field.
Minimum 2 years of leadership experience.
Proficient in UV-Vis/Solo-VPE, pH, Density, Osmolality, and other analytical techniques.
Strong organizational and computer skills.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Knowledge of cGMP regulations.
Physical ability to lift 25+ lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and operate laboratory equipment.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Authorization to work in the United States without restrictions.
