The Opportunity

The Clinical Data Manager is responsible for performing data management activities across all phases of clinical studies (startup, conduct, reporting). This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and timely reporting of clinical trial data while mentoring junior team members and contributing to process improvements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Translate clinical study requirements into trial Casebook design

  • Develop and maintain Data Management Plans (DMPs)

  • Create edit check specifications and perform automated data cleaning

  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) for study databases, reports, and customizations

  • Develop study-specific data listings to ensure accuracy and integrity

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies and inconsistencies

  • Propose process improvements, author procedures, and train peers on new practices

  • Mentor and support junior Clinical Data Management team members


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, or Technical Field (or equivalent work experience)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a clinical, medical, or research setting


Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in clinical trial data collection best practices and global clinical operations

  • Experience with electronic data capture (EDC) systems and eTMF systems

  • Proficiency in SAS, SQL, and industry-standard data analysis tools

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of:

    • Anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, therapies, and medical devices

    • Medical terminology, diagnostics, and medications

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills

  • Certified Clinical Data Manager (CCDM) or equivalent credential


Compensation

  • Base pay range: $86,700 – $173,300 (varies by location)
