Position Summary

The Clinical Contract Associate II will support clinical research operations by developing, reviewing and processing clinical study contracts and budgets. Working under the direction of a Manager or Senior Contract Associate, this role requires strong analytical skills, contract negotiation experience and an understanding of regulatory expectations.

The position involves collaborating with internal stakeholders and external study sites to ensure timely and compliant contract execution. This role does not supervise others but significantly influences project timelines and study readiness.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and negotiate clinical study contracts, amendments and complex budgets within defined timelines.

  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to resolve contract and budget discrepancies.

  • Review informed consent documents for alignment with study agreements.

  • Identify compliance or contractual risks and support mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure all contract-related processes adhere to Abbott policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in project discussions, providing insights on contract terms and financial structures.


Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or equivalent education.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a related field, preferably clinical contracting or clinical research support.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field.

  • 5 years of experience in clinical contracting, budgeting or a similar discipline.

  • Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical or biotechnology sponsor environments.

  • Knowledge of contract law, legal terminology and redlining documentation.

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GCP, ICH, GLP and the AdvaMed Code of Ethics.

  • Understanding of key regulatory reporting areas (Sunshine Act, FWA, Clinical Insurance, Human Subject Protection training).

  • Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and relevant database systems.

Compensation

Base salary range: $79,500 – $138,700.
